KAY AUBANEL

Exhibition April 27 1975 - May 17 1975

The photo constructions have a dizzying effect in spite of their altar-like symmetry. Artist Kay Aubanel has mounted black and white photos on quirky, multi layered formats that curve out, are divided into several connected plateaus or lie flat on the ground. The grainy, black and white images of natural textures, veiled human forms and the sea are at the same time immaterial pictorial clues and mere inflections in the surfaces of the three-dimensional structures.
