CHICAGQ in Montreal :
a selection of queer and feminist voices from Chicago’s DIY and experiemental video-makers
Hanna M. Owens (Chicago)
Screening Monday August 11th, 2014, 6pm
Among a group of contemporary artists with feminist and queer sensibilities, what do we make art about? Besides the inequalities that we face daily or our sexual preferences, what are we talking about? Which stories are we telling? What makes us laugh?
This event will present recent works in video by Chicago-based artists who work to tackle an array of subjects including women’s soccer, intimacy, dads, pale blogs, nostalgia, waterfalls, crying, and a bunch of other really important stuff.
The goal of this event is to create a Chicago-Montreal exchange between radical artistic communities in both cities, and to host an event representing Montreal artists in Chicago in the coming year.
