La Centrale will spill out onto the street again for the Main Maddness sidewalk sale between June 19 to 21 2009 !!! BOOM BAZAAR (arts, crafts and random stuff sale) returns by popular demand. New on menu is Friday's personalized medicinal popscicle prescriptions by Alexis O'Hara, Saturday's Rock Camp for Girls Montreal dream-mix-tape-album-cover workshop, and Sir Clement's short rock show, and Sunday's 30 min accoustic set by Geeta. Furthermore, this is your last chance to see Amy Lockhart's show, Give Up the Ghost.

So hit the Main for your dose of art, craft, music, alternative commerce and local talent under the sun with La Centrale.

Dream-mix-tape-album-cover workshop

On Saturday June 20th, join organizers and volunteers from Rock Camp for Girls Montreal in making that dream playlist you fantasized about when you were 14 - or get down and dirty and make your own album cover- supplies will be provided. Ok, so we arent going to actually make mix tapes- but we're inviting people to collectively create the biggest mix-tape playlist of feminist and girl rock songs they can wrap their mind around. We'll document you're contributions in our big-book-of-wicked-songs or you can document it yourself by creating an album cover. Oh, we will also be blasting our favourite mix tapes, so come dance, mix and collage your socks off for a good cause.

What's Rock Camp? Rock Camp for Girls is a 5 day music camp where girls learn and practice instruments, form a band and write a song together, and perform at the Showcase Concert! Rock Camp is a space where girls discover and express their talents, and become leaders in creating their own kind of music!
