LEGITIMATION
The installations in Legitimation act to dislodge familiar codes by which knowledge and reality are represented. The exhibition addresses modes by which meaning and value are produced through particular technologies of display and representation. The artists employ a non-didactic approach to deconstruction, in which the works function through reflexivity and implication. The strategies of re-presentation and re-contextualization further link these works to work in other disciplinary fields, within an expansive theatre of feminist practice.
