Facilitated by kimura byol lemoine
Friday, June 17 from 6:30pm- 8pm
My artistic work spans over 35 years of my life and is multifaceted depending on the places, languages and situations I have had to navigate. The plurality of my artistic practices have been influenced by my economic realities (immigrant as a tourist, permanent resident, and finally citizen) and the evolution of technologies. My tendency to function as a solitary artist with difficulty in communicating has slowly been punctuated by collaborations with other artists as my confidence as an artist grows. So, I will present my multiple artistic collaborations: starkimproject.com/group-e-s/
With 10 examples of collaborations, I will reflect on the pros and cons of working in groups with intersectional realities. I also wish to raise another vision of making art, with my atypical background, with anecdotes and questions that will begin an open discussion.
