2022.04.30 - Roped Together with Mathieu Lacroix
On the occasion of Tess Martens, Holly Timpener and Matthew Moir's performance Tug-A-War, on April 28th and 29th, 2022 from 6 to 9pm in the gallery's window, La Centrale is proud to present : Roped Together with Mathieu Lacroix, a discussion between the artists and Mathieu Lacroix.
The talk will take place at the gallery on Saturday, April 30th from 2 to 3:30 pm and will draw on the work of Tess Martens, Holly Timpener and Matthew Moir to discuss performance, queer identity and communication in relation to isolation and technology.

Mathieu Lacroix lives and works in Montreal. He holds a bachelor's degree in visual arts from the University of Quebec in Montreal (2006). Since 2003, he has participated in several group exhibitions in artist centers and galleries. In addition, he took part in various cultural events in Quebec. His work has recently been seen at McBride Contemporain (2021), at the Clark Art and Dissemination Center (2021) and in Toronto as part of the art event 7a*11d (2018). The artist is the recent recipient of a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts for the La Variante project. Mathieu Lacroix is an active member of the Pique-nique collective (2003-) and collaborated on the Jean Couteau project (2018-2021) and Dessinator (2005-2010).
